Joeri Mombers

Lead IP Counsel

Joeri Mombers graduated from the Faculty of Law at KU Leuven. He is a qualified Benelux and European trademarks and designs attorney, a member of the Benelux Association for Trademark- and Designlaw and a member of INTA’s Europe Global Advisory Council. Mr Mombers is Lead IP Counsel at Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) where he applies his all-round expertise in the fields of trademarks, designs, domain names, copyright and related matters in a wide variety of global day-to-day matters and strategic projects. He represents Signify at the memorandum of understanding on the sale of counterfeit goods on the internet.

In 2005, Mr Mombers became a member of the trademark and anti-counterfeiting committees of AIM – the European Brands Association. In 2010, he was one of the founding members of the EDB (now known as IPEP) at the EUIPO. He continues to be an active member of the IPEP working group. In 2015, he became chairman of AIM’s Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, in which capacity he is actively involved in the Digital Services Act debate at EU level in general and at Benelux level in particular.

He is a welcomed speaker at many conferences, having lectured at the Centre for IT & IP Law of KU Leuven
